My name’s David Wilde, company director of Dwilde Consulting. I am a Fellow of the Institute of Directors, and a Member of the British Computer Society and Associate of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development. I have over 35 years in central and local government leadership spanning policy, large scale operations, strategy, technology, digital and whole service transformation
In Essex I was a member of the Executive Board from June 2015, leading on Place Operations and then Digital whilst remaining CIO and SIRO. I also established the Smart Essex vision and ambitions, and built into the organisations’ business plans
Previously I have established and delivered strategies and programmes for cloud adoption, supporting economic growth, customer transformation, shared services through collaboration and self-service through digital engagement as CIO for Essex County Council, Westminster City Council, Waltham Forest Council and the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister. Before that I helped to transform the governments’ internet services business in the Cabinet Office into a successful commercial venture.
Outside of my busy work life I have a huge passion for 1.2 acres of garden with an orchard. During the harvesting season I very much enjoy making my own apple juice picked from the trees in the orchard, to then turn into cider. I also have an extensive knowledge of flowers, trees, and plants.
